Jagla and Germany take to the court tomorrow

Jan’s quest to make it to the Olympics starts when Germany takes on Cape Verde tomorrow in the Olympic Qualifying tournament.

Here’s Jan’s profile on the FIBA tournament preview page.

Jan Jagla has made plenty of progress in the past two years in becoming a real force on top teams in Turkey (Turk Telekom) and Spain (ULEB Cup champion DKV Joventut). Jagla’s size and mix of inside and outside skills help him create mismatches on offence. And his scoring ability complements Dirk Nowitzki’s game very well, giving Germany coach Dirk Bauermann two big players who can play on the wing and on the blocks. After initially serving as back-up to both Nowitzki and veteran, aging center Patrick Femerling, Jagla has already gained plenty of playing time with the starting unit. He is improving defensively and has definitely learned how to win by helping Joventut to Copa del Rey glory and the ULEB Cup crown.
